Minimum Entry Requirements:
⇒ 18 years or above of age
⇒ Successful completion year 12 or equivalent
⇒ 5.5 bands in IELTS or equivalent as assessed by the Institute
⇒  (students with 5 bands in IELTS will need to complete the advised period of ELICOS)

Duration of the Course
The course will be delivered over a period of 104 weeks (2 years) divided into 8 terms of 9 weeks each. Each week will have a minimum of 20 hours of student-teacher contact.

Delivery Mode:
This qualification will be delivered in classroom as well as on the job. The teaching methods used by the trainers will include face-to-face workshop lectures, supervised work placements, case studies, role-plays, workplace simulation, written assignments, presentations, etc. Competency will not be awarded unless the student has completed the classroom as well as work placement based assignments successfully.

OUTCOME OF THE COURSE:
After the completion of the Course, the successful candidates will be awarded with a Diploma of Community Welfare Work. The students will be eligible to apply for employment at a professional level in the Community Services industry Workers in this role are usually involved in service delivery in the form of either direct client work or community development projects. Workers at this level operate at an advanced skill level and may also have the responsibility for supervision of other minimum of 20 hours of student-teacher contact.

Field Work
Students will be able to incorporate 400 hours of work experience within the Community Services Sector as a compulsory component of their assessment. This work experience will be arranged by the Institute FREE OF COST to the student.
